The Ultra-Gate38HP retains the compactness and lightness synonymous with Turbosmart wastegates, specifically for classic 2 bolt flanges (71 MM spacing) and the added bonus of being capable of handling high boost pressures. Only 28 MM taller than the standard Ultra-Gate38, these wastegates are ideal for all high boost applications. Utilizing their Locking Collar for quick and easy springs changes (Options from 10 PSI to 40 PSI available). Features a one-piece Stainless Steel Valve for maximum reliability and our proven Silicon Nomex Diaphragm.
Supplied With: Gaskets, Mounting Bolts, Locking Collar Tool, Valve Seat, Brown/Orange 10 PSI Inner Spring and Brown/Green 25 PSI Outer Spring (installed), 1/16 Inch NPT Hose Barb Fittings (5 MM), Port Blanking Plugs.
The most common reason for investing in an external wastegate is fitting an after-market turbo or better control of the boost and consequently the power output of your engine. Additionally, most large frame turbochargers are not equipped with internal wastegate systems. Most tuners will recommend an external wastegate for any engine producing 400 HP or more, as running high boost through a factory internal wastegate can overpower the actuator spring, limiting maximum boost level. Aftermarket external wastegates feature bigger inlet and outlet ports, higher pressure springs and bigger actuator diaphragms to effectively control high boost pressure. They are designed and manufactured using the latest technologies.
